چکیده

Frequency-domain pre-equalization (pre-FDE) transmission can be used instead of FDE reception for improving the transmission performance in a severe frequency-selective fading channel. Antenna diversity technique is also a well-known technique for improving the transmission performance, especially, transmit antenna diversity technique has been attracting much attention. In this paper, we propose joint preFDE and transmit antenna diversity based on the minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion for multi-code DS-CDMA. The average BER performance in a frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channel is evaluated by computer simulation. Performance comparison between pre-FDE transmission and FDE reception both jointly using transmit antenna diversity technique is also presented. Frequency-domain Equalization for Antenna Diversity Reception of Ds-cdma Signals

A coherent rake combiner is employed as the channel matched filter in a DS-CDMA mobile radio. However, as the number of propagation paths increases, the coherent rake receiver incurs a serious degradation in the bit error rate (BER) performance due to severe inter-path interference (IPI). In this paper, frequency-domain equalization employed in multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CD...

Performance Evaluation for Frequency-domain Pre-equalization with Space-Time block coding Transmit/Receive diversity in DS-CDMA Mobile Radio

Abstract Recently, frequency-domain pre-equalization (pre-FDE) transmission has been attracting attention for improving the SC transmission (e.g., DS-CDMA) performance in a frequency-selective fading channel. Antenna diversity reception is also a well-known technique for improving the transmission performance. However, so far the joint use of pre-FDE and the receive diversity has not been discu...

Orthogonal Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA with Frequency-Domain Equalization

Orthogonal multi-carrier direct sequence code division multiple access (orthogonal MC DS-CDMA) is a combination of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and time-domain spreading, while multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) is a combination of OFDM and frequency-domain spreading. In MC-CDMA, a good bit error rate (BER) performance can be achieved by using frequencydo...

Joint Frequency-domain Equalization and Antenna Diversity Combining for Orthogonal Multicode DS-CDMA Signal Transmissions in A Frequency-selective Fading Channel

Orthogonal multicode direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) has a flexibility in offering various data rate services. However, in a frequency-selective fading channel, the bit error rate (BER) performance is severely degraded since othogonality among spreading codes is partially lost. In this paper, we apply frequency-domain equalization and antenna diversity combining, used in...

Multi-access method using frequency-interleaving and frequency-domain equalization for broadband mobile radio

Abstract In direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA), frequency-domain equalization (FDE) based on minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion can be applied to exploit the channel frequency-selectivity and therefore achieves much improved bit error rate (BER) performance than using the conventional rake combining. Even if FDE is applied to DS-CDMA, however, the uplink BER perform...
